"I am still too weak, the fight with 3rd Raikage showed me about my overconfidence. It was due to his arrogant nature that I was able to escape otherwise I had been a dead man."Ray was complaining to himself about his attitude.
(You are right about this , you were too arrogant after awakening your Susanoo and that nature of your's led to halt in your progress.)

I was trying to go beyond my range for this mission and forgot that the war will continue for a lot of years so it is good to plan thoroughly and do according to my plans instead of moving recklessly. I can just use some good battles to show my powers and it is not necessary to participate in every event."Ray
(Yeah try to use minimum plot as it will change the later plots so you have take a lot of matters in consideration for your planning so take the time while you are at rest to plan carefully as this is not a game but a war.)

The sand and stone hidden village alliance had started attacking leaf village main camp at the borders respectively. Stone village had Onoki as the leader of the ninjas while sand village had Chiyo as their leaders and from leaf village ,Orochimaru and Jiraya were leading leaf ninjas against the alliance.
The war took place for 3 weeks leading to a high casualty of sand village and lots of ninja of leaf and stone village.[Sand village's casualty was too much compared to sand and leaf village as a large part of sand elite ninjas were killed by Ray.]
Orochimaru had stalled Onoki at his try of every advance and had sustained major injuries leading him to not being able to join war for some time after the sand and stone village alliance attack.
Jiraya was able to fight Chiyo in Sage mode with the help of the two frog sages while not being in any disadvantage but was not able to defeat her.
Sand village had to sign a peace treaty with leaf village because if they continued to fight in war that will lead to the destruction of sand village.So sand village was the first one to retreat from the great war.
Stone village had not admitted the defeat and were rallying ninjas together with cloud village to attack leaf village borders.
While stone and cloud were preparing to taking time to prepare , leaf had launched crusade against the stone village with Jiraya and Minato leading the troops and had caused disruption in stone village leading them to break the alliance temporarily with cloud village as the stone village needed more time to gather power to attack leaf village and the attack continued for 2 weeks.
While 3rd Hokage Sarutobi was leading was leading some ninjas to the mist village border as they had got that mist village was sending ninjas to infiltrate leaf borders and cause some loses while sneak attacking the leaf ninjas but were caught in an ambush of leaf ninjas led by Sarutobi causing death of two of the seven swordsman ninja of mist village named Raiga Kurosuki and Jūzō Biwa causing a major vitality loss to the mist village and thus had to retreat early in the war as they were also fighting against cloud village invasion.[Cloud village had invaded mist village for the weapons of seven swordsman ninjas of mist to conduct research on the weapons for trying mass production of their fake versions.]
While these battles were happening , stone village had convinced Hanzo of the Salamander to form an alliance with them after the sudden attack from leaf and supporting them to attack leaf village. So this caused s sudden disruption in the great war due to the participation of Hanzo and leaf had to send Minato and Fugaku Uchiha with a group elite ninjas to the rain village to keep in check the rain ninjas.
Hyūga no Chōrō and Jiraya went to the border of the cloud village against any sudden invasion from the cloud village.
Orochimaru had healed so he had taken the command against the stone village.
While these things were happening Ray was healing from the weak state after the fight with 3rd Raikage.
